Meet Ms. Teresa Sonnen
Hello! My name is Teresa “Teri” Sonnen, and I have been blessed to be part of the St. Anthony Catholic School community since 1997.
For 20 wonderful years, I taught First Grade at St. Anthony. I now serve as our Reading Interventionist and Dyslexia Teacher, where I have the opportunity to provide additional support to students who experience dyslexia and other reading challenges. I provide individualized instruction using the Orton-Gillingham Approach, along with accommodations and support tailored to each student's unique learning needs. I believe that every child can thrive when given the right tools, encouragement, and support.
Supporting Our Students:
In addition to reading intervention, I serve as a point of contact for families whose children have documented accommodations.
Families may also contact me when they need information regarding the referral process for:
-
Speech therapy
-
Learning disabilities
-
Student accommodations
My goal is to help families navigate these supports while working together with teachers to help each student experience success.
Favorite Classroom Motto:
“Learning to read is a journey.”
Every child's journey may look a little different, and I am honored to support students as they develop their skills, confidence, and love of reading.
