Meet Mrs. Kelly Thompson

Hello, Saints!

My name is Kelley Thompson, and I am excited to begin my second year at St. Anthony Catholic School as a Reading Interventionist and member of the After School Care Team.

Although I have been on staff for only a short time, St. Anthony has been a special part of my family’s life for many years. I was a St. Anthony parent for many years, and I am proud to say that both of my sons attended St. Anthony from KRP through 8th grade. It is a joy to now serve the school community that meant so much to my family.

Before joining St. Anthony, I spent 30 years as a public school teacher, working with students from Pre-K through 4th grade. After retiring from the classroom, I returned to school and earned my Educational Diagnostician Certification. I then served as an Interventionist with both SAISD and SWISD.

In my role at St. Anthony, I work with small groups of students in Kindergarten through 5th grade who may be experiencing challenges with reading. We primarily use the Lexia Core5 Reading program, which supports and reinforces the skills students are learning in their classrooms. Core5 focuses on six key areas of reading development: phonological awareness, phonics, structural analysis, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
